About John

John Sadler is President of Chesapeake Wealth Management.  Prior to joining Chesapeake, Mr. Sadler practiced as a trust and estate planning attorney for 20 years. He is the former president and owner of Williamsburg Estate Planning.

Mr. Sadler is the current Chairman of the Virginia Bankers Association’s Trust & Wealth Management Committee and Past President of the Virginia Peninsula Estate Planning Council. He is a current or former member of the State Bars of Virginia, Maryland, and Michigan, the District of Columbia Bar, and is admitted to the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. He is also a member of the Trust and Estates Section of the Virginia State Bar.

Mr. Sadler currently serves on the Board of Directors and Finance Committee for Williamsburg Landing. He is a past Distinguished President of the Kiwanis Club of Williamsburg, and Past President of the Williamsburg Kiwanis Foundation, where he served for eight years on the Board of Directors.  He is also a former Executive Officer of the Williamsburg Bar Association, a graduate of the Leadership Historic Triangle (Class of 2001), and served as a Legal Intern with the U. S. Army JAG Corps in Germany.

Mr. Sadler is a graduate of James Madison University (B.A., major in English), which included studying abroad at the University of London. He received his Juris Doctor from Western Michigan University Law School in Lansing, MI.
